6 week Plan
Week 1- Basics of printing: We will learn how to use the tools of printmaking safely and efficiently to make an amazingartwork. We will be making a small linoleum carving of something involving texture. This is pretty free form and you can do pretty much anything with this!
Week 2- How to print using a press: We will be learning how to prepare, ink, and print our first linoleum carving from the previous week. We will also be talking about and planning our next print.
Week 3- We will be making a larger print of something that inspires us. This can be a person, place, thing, or pretty much anything that you draw inspiration from in life or in your art. We will also be talking about how to enhance our previous prints with the use of colored pencils or paint and emphasis on specific parts of the print using color.Week 4- This will be one of the most fun classes as we will be printing our previous prints onshirts, totes, or any other kind of other materials you want to bring in! You can do this in color ink or in black ink! This is one of my personal favorite things to do with my prints and I love to wear my artwork!
Week 5- This week we will be doing a more advanced kind of print involving the use of multiple ink colors. You will slowly carve away the different layers of your print with the goal of using three different colors! This will be a completely free subject print where you can make whatever you want and I will simply be around to help out, give tips, and advice when needed.
Week 6- We will finish up the last of our prints and have fun while we work! This day will mostly be dedicated to printing with the press and using other materials to spice up the prints that youwant to! You will also collect the prints that are dry and ready to take home!
